Corjuem Fort, also known as Fort Assunção, is a historic fortress located on the river island of Corjuem in North Goa. Built in 1705 by the Portuguese under the leadership of Viceroy Caetano de Mello e Castro, the fort was constructed to defend against Maratha aggression.
Although smaller than other forts in Goa, Corjuem Fort offers stunning views of the surrounding river and landscape.
