Dhekiakhowa Bornaamghar
Dhekiakhowa Bornaamghar, located in Jorhat, Assam, is a significant place of worship established by the saint-reformer Madhavdev in 1461. This namghar (prayer hall) is dedicated to the practice of the Ekasarana Naam Dharma, a form of Vaishnavism. The Bornaamghar is situated in Dhekiakhowa village, about 15 km east of Jorhat city and 3.5 km away from National Highway 37.
One of the unique aspects of Dhekiakhowa Bornaamghar is the earthen lamp that Madhavdev kindled in 1528, which has been burning continuously since then, refueled with mustard oil by the priests. The namghar is spread over 13 bighas of land and includes various facilities maintained by a managing committee with donations from devotees.
