Built by Sultan Firoz Shah Tughlaq of the Delhi Sultanate in 1354 AD, the complex includes several notable structures such as the Lat ki Masjid, Diwan-e-Aam, Gujri Mahal, and underground apartments.
The architecture of the complex is a blend of Islamic and Indian styles, with red sandstone being the primary building material.
The complex also houses an Ashokan pillar, originally brought from Topra Kalan in Yamunanagar, Haryana. The site is maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India and has been declared a Centrally Protected Monument.
