Gurudwara Shri Dukhniwaran Sahib in Patiala, Punjab, is a revered spiritual site known for its healing properties. According to tradition, Guru Tegh Bahadur visited the village of Lehal (now part of Patiala) in 1672 to bless the area and rid it of a mysterious disease.
The site where he meditated under a banyan tree by the pond became known as Dukhniwaran Sahib, meaning "eradicator of suffering". Devotees believe in the healing qualities of the water in the sarovar (holy pond) attached to the shrine.
