The Indian Naval Aviation Museum is located in Bogmalo, about 6 kilometers from Vasco da Gama in South Goa. This unique museum, inaugurated in October 1998, showcases the evolution of the Indian Naval Air Arm over the decades. It is one of only two military aviation museums in India, the other being the Indian Air Force Museum in Palam, Delhi.
The museum is divided into two main parts: an outdoor exhibit and a two-storey indoor gallery. The outdoor exhibit features a variety of decommissioned aircraft, including iconic planes like the Hawker Sea Hawk, Short Sealand, and Sea Harrier. There are also large models of the aircraft carriers INS Vikrant and INS Viraat.
The indoor gallery houses exhibits on naval armament, uniforms, and the progression of the Indian air and naval forces.
Visitors can also watch a captivating 20-minute documentary on naval aviation, explore a virtual reality corner for an immersive flying experience, and take photos at the designated selfie corner.
