Lachen Monastery, also known as Ngodub Choling Monastery, is a Nyingma Buddhist monastery located in Lachen, North Sikkim. Built in 1858, it was originally a small hut constructed by Lama Karchen Dorje Drak, a disciple of Jamyang Choki Rinzing.
Over time, the monastery was expanded and became an important spiritual center in the region. It houses a statue of Guru Padmasambhava and is adorned with colorful prayer flags and prayer wheels, creating a peaceful and meditative atmosphere. The monastery hosts annual ceremonies and mask dances, reflecting the rich cultural traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.
Today, it functions under the guidance of His Eminent Lachen Gomchen Rinpoche and remains a significant pilgrimage site in North Sikkim.
