Mangal Talab
Mangal Talab, also known as Mangalpura Talab, is a historic pond located in Patna City, Bihar. Spread over an area of 9.9 acres, it was originally constructed in 1876 by a local zamindar for irrigation and water supply. The pond is shaped like a cashew nut and has been a popular spot for locals and visitors alike.
Recently, the pond has undergone significant redevelopment to enhance its beauty and recreational facilities. The surrounding areas have been landscaped with a green cover, and new amenities such as a kid's play zone, a cafeteria, an open gym, jogging tracks, and a musical fountain have been added.
The redevelopment project, costing Rs 27 crore, is being jointly handled by the Urban Development and Housing Department and the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation. The aim is to transform Mangal Talab into a major tourism hotspot and recreational area in Patna.
