Maqbara Paik
Maqbara Paik is a historical monument located in Jahangirpuri, North West Delhi. It is believed to be a Lodi-era tomb, dedicated to a messenger or foot soldier, as the word "Paik" refers to a messenger in historical contexts.
The structure is built using Lakhori brick masonry and finished with lime plaster, showcasing architectural elements from the Mughal period. The tomb stands on a high plinth with a small chamber on the lower ground floor, allowing a limited amount of sunlight to enter through four perforations, a characteristic feature of Lodi-era crypts.
Despite being surrounded by modern infrastructure, the monument has been restored by the Archaeological Survey of India, ensuring its preservation.
