Patneshwar Mandir
The Patneshwar Mandir in Jamui, Bihar, is a revered Shiva temple with a rich history. According to legend, the temple was once the residence of the Goswami family. One day, a member of the family saw something shining in the woods and discovered it was a Shivling. The temple was built in 1711 AD to honor this sacred discovery.
Every year during the Hindu month of Shravan, a 2-feet wall of mud is formed around the Shivling, and liters of milk are poured over it. Interestingly, the Shivling never gets submerged despite the heavy pouring of milk.
The temple is also known for its scenic beauty, with the picturesque Kiul River and surrounding mountains creating a serene atmosphere.
