The Poa Mecca Dargah Sarif in Hajo, Kamrup, Assam, is a revered pilgrimage site for Muslims. Located atop the Garurachala Hills, about 32 kilometers west of Guwahati, the dargah is believed to have been built by an Iraqi prince turned preacher, Ghiyasuddin Auliya, in the 12th century.
It is said that Ghiyasuddin brought a lump of earth from Mecca and enshrined it at this spot, giving the site its name "Poa Mecca," meaning "one-fourth of Mecca".
