Rashtrapati Bhavan
Rashtrapati Bhavan is the official residence of the President of India, located at the western end of Rajpath (now Kartavya Path) on Raisina Hill, New Delhi.
Originally built as the Viceroy’s House during British rule, it was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and completed in 1929. The grand structure spans 130 hectares and includes 340 rooms, reception halls, guest rooms, offices, and the famous Mughal Gardens, now known as Amrit Udyan.
Visitors can explore Rashtrapati Bhavan through guided tours, which include the Main Building, Amrit Udyan, Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum, and the Change of Guard Ceremony. The visitor booking system allows online reservations for these tours.
The architectural style blends Indian and Western influences, featuring Jaipur Column, intricate jali work, and dome-shaped pavilions (chhatris).
