The Samudra Narayan Temple is a beautiful Hindu temple located at the Gomti Sangam Ghat in Dwarka, Gujarat. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Gomti and is situated at the confluence of the Gomti River and the Arabian Sea. According to legend, River Gomti was brought from heaven by Rishi Vasishtha to sanctify Lord Rama after his battle with the demon king Ravana.
After purification, Goddess Gomti manifested at this spot and then submerged into the Arabian Sea.
The temple also enshrines beautiful idols of Lord Varuna, Samudra Deva, Mira Bai, and Mother Asta Bhavani. There is a sacred kund or tank in the temple where several ceremonial sacrifices are performed. The temple is surrounded by Panchanada Tirtha, which comprises five wells with sweet water. Nearby, there is a meditation cave known as Manoratha Dwar.
