Shree Nagesh Maharudra Mandir, also known as Shree Nagesh Temple, is a revered Shiva temple located in Bandora, Ponda, North Goa. It is one of the few temples in Goa that remained at its original site despite Portuguese rule.
The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, worshipped as Nagueshi, and houses a Swayambhu (self-manifested) Shivlinga, believed to have been discovered by a cowherd. The temple complex features a water reservoir (tali) where visitors can see reflections of the idol and illuminated lamps, adding to its mystical charm.
Inscriptions dating back to 1413 AD mention the grant of Bandode village for its rituals and upkeep. The temple hosts daily rituals and annual festivals, attracting devotees from across the region.
