Shree Shantadurga Kunkalikarin Temple
Shree Shantadurga Kunkalikarin Temple, located in Fatorpa, South Goa, is one of the oldest and most revered temples in Goa. Dedicated to Goddess Shantadurga, the temple was originally situated in Cuncolim village but was relocated to Fatorpa in the 16th century due to religious persecution during the Portuguese invasion.
The temple was later reconstructed during the reign of Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shahu.
The temple complex is surrounded by lush greenery and features a massive Mahadwar (entrance gate), a gold-plated kalash atop the main dome, and two idols of Shree Shantadurga—one in a sitting position and another in a standing posture.
The annual Zatra festival, held in Pausha Shuddha Navami, attracts thousands of devotees from across the country.
