Thadlaskein Lake, also known as Pung Sajar Nangli, is a picturesque man-made lake located in the West Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya, near Mukhla village. The lake is about 58 kilometers from Shillong and is known for its serene atmosphere and scenic beauty.
According to local legend, the lake was created by a young leader named Sajar Nangli and his followers who, after a long journey, began digging the ground with their bows and arrows, eventually forming the lake.
The lake is revered by the people of Raid Mukhla and is associated with the Niamtre community, who perform sacrifices near the lake once every hundred years.
