Tirumala Hills
The Tirumala Hills are located in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh and are famous for the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple, one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in the world. The hills are part of the Seshachalam Range of the Eastern Ghats and are situated at an elevation of 3,200 feet (980 meters) above sea level.
The temple is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, a form of Lord Vishnu, and is believed to be where he appeared on earth to save mankind from Kali Yuga. The hills are home to seven peaks, with the temple located on the seventh peak, Venkatadri.
The area is also known for its natural beauty, including the Silathoranam, a natural arch formed by weathering of quartzite rocks.
