Imphal West district is a district in the state of Manipur, located in northeastern India. Imphal West is one of the nine districts of Manipur and its administrative headquarters is Imphal, which is also the capital of the state.
Imphal West district is bordered by Imphal East district to the east, Thoubal district to the south, and Senapati district to the north. The district covers an area of approximately 558 square kilometers and has a population of around 5.4 lakh (540,000) people as per the 2011 census.
