Majuli is a district in the state of Assam, India. It is located in the Brahmaputra River and is often referred to as the largest river island in the world. Majuli was declared a district in 2016, prior to which it was a sub-division of Jorhat district.

Majuli is known for its rich cultural heritage and is a hub of neo-Vaishnavite culture. It is home to several Vaishnavite monasteries known as "Satras," which have preserved the traditional dance, music, and art forms of the region. These Satras also serve as centers of religious and spiritual teachings.
