The Japanese Garden in Chandigarh, located in Sector 31, is a serene and beautifully designed park that offers a glimpse into Japanese culture and aesthetics. Spanning 13 acres, the garden was inaugurated on November 7, 2014, by Shivraj Patil. It was developed by the Indian Government at a cost of ₹6 crore.

The garden is divided into two phases, connected by an underground tunnel adorned with exquisite Japanese paintings. This tunnel not only serves as a passage but also enhances the cultural experience for visitors.

The garden features a variety of traditional Japanese elements, including pagoda towers, waterfalls, a meditation center, a Buddha idol, and golden bamboo. These elements are meticulously designed to create an atmosphere of tranquility and reflection.

The lush greenery, combined with the soothing sounds of water features, provides a perfect setting for relaxation and meditation. The garden's design seamlessly blends traditional Japanese architecture with modern landscaping, making it a unique attraction in Chandigarh.

It also offers a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of urban life, allowing visitors to unwind and connect with nature. The garden is open to the public from 5:00 am to 11:00 pm, making it accessible for early morning walks and evening strolls. Its well-maintained pathways and scenic views make it a popular spot for photography and leisurely activities.
