Hapur, previously known as Panchsheel Nagar, is a district located in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is situated in the western part of Uttar Pradesh and is a part of the National Capital Region (NCR). Hapur district was formed on 28 September 2011, after it was separated from Ghaziabad district. The district headquarters of Hapur is the city of Hapur, which is also the largest city in the district. Hapur is known for its agricultural activities and is primarily a rural district. The district is bordered by Ghaziabad district to the east, Meerut district to the west, Bulandshahr district to the south, and Baghpat district to the north.
