District Longding is located in the state of Arunachal Pradesh, India. It is situated in the easternmost part of the state, bordering the neighboring country of Myanmar. Longding district was carved out of the Tirap district in 2012 with the aim of improving administration and governance in the region.

The district is predominantly inhabited by various tribes, including the Wancho, Nocte, and Tangsa tribes. These tribes have their distinct cultural identities and traditional practices. Agriculture is the main occupation of the people, with rice being the primary crop grown in the region. Other crops like maize, millet, and vegetables are also cultivated.
