District Ri Bhoi is located in the state of Meghalaya, India. It is one of the eleven districts of Meghalaya and was formed in 1976. The district headquarters is located in Nongpoh, which is also the largest town in Ri Bhoi.
Ri Bhoi District is situated in the eastern part of Meghalaya and shares its borders with Kamrup district of Assam in the north, Karbi Anglong district of Assam in the west, East Khasi Hills district in the south, and East Jaintia Hills district in the east.
