South Garo Hills is a district in the state of Meghalaya, located in northeastern India. It is one of the eleven districts in the state and is primarily inhabited by the Garo tribe, one of the major ethnic communities in Meghalaya.
The district is known for its picturesque landscapes, lush green forests, and rich biodiversity. It shares its borders with Bangladesh to the south and the districts of West Garo Hills and East Garo Hills to the north and east, respectively. The district headquarters is Baghmara, which is also the largest town in South Garo Hills.
