District South Tripura is one of the eight districts in the state of Tripura, located in northeastern India. It was formed on 21st January 2012 after the reorganization of districts in the state. The district's headquarters is Belonia, which is also the second-largest town in Tripura.
South Tripura district is situated in the southern part of Tripura and shares borders with Bangladesh on the south and west. The district covers an area of approximately 1,528 square kilometers.
