Abi Gamin
Abi Gamin, also known as Ibi Gamin, is a majestic Himalayan peak located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India. It stands at an impressive elevation of 7,355 meters (24,131 feet) and is situated about 2 kilometers northeast of Kamet, another prominent peak in the region.
Abi Gamin lies on the watershed of the upper Alaknanda and Dhauli rivers, between the Manna and Niti passes on the Indo-Tibetan border. The first successful ascent of Abi Gamin was achieved on August 22, 1950, by a small Anglo-Swiss expedition team comprising Alfred Tissieres, R. Dittert, and G. Chevalley.
They approached the peak from the north side through Tibet. The Southwest Ridge via Meade's Col is considered the easiest route to the summit. Abi Gamin is known for its stunning views and challenging climbing routes, making it a favorite among mountaineers and trekkers. The peak is covered in snow throughout the year, adding to its allure and beauty.
