Agastyamalai, also known as Agasthyarkoodam, is a prominent peak in the Western Ghats located along the border of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, mainly in the districts of Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu and Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam in Kerala. Standing at about 1,868 meters (6,129 feet), it is one of the highest peaks in South India and part of the Agasthyamalai Biosphere Reserve, recognized by UNESCO for its rich biodiversity.
The area is a vital ecological hotspot, home to over 2,000 species of medicinal plants, many endemic animals including mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and birds.
