Swaminarayan Akshardham in East Delhi is a magnificent Hindu temple and spiritual-cultural complex that showcases centuries of traditional and modern Hindu culture, spirituality, and architecture. Inspired by Yogiji Maharaj and created by Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the temple was constructed by BAPS and inaugurated on November 6, 2005.
It is the second-largest BAPS Hindu temple in the world, following Akshardham in New Jersey, USA. The temple is built from intricately carved pink sandstone and white marble, reflecting the grandeur of ancient Indian craftsmanship.
The complex features exhibitions, a water show, thematic gardens, and an abhishek mandap, offering visitors a spiritually enriching experience. The Sanskruti Darshan boat ride takes visitors through India's rich cultural heritage, while the Neelkanth Darshan IMAX film narrates the journey of Bhagwan Swaminarayan as a teenage yogi.
