The Alai Minar is an incomplete historical monument located within the Qutb Minar complex in South Delhi, New Delhi, Delhi. It was commissioned by Sultan Ala-ud-Din Khilji in 1311 AD, with the ambitious goal of constructing a tower twice the height of the Qutub Minar to commemorate his victory in the Deccan campaigns.
However, the construction was halted after his death in 1361 CE, leaving the minar unfinished. The Alai Minar stands at a height of 80 feet and is made of red rubble masonry. It is situated just north of the Qutub Minar and is a testament to the architectural ambitions of the Khilji dynasty.
Alai Minar is located in New Delhi, Delhi.
