Annamalai Murugan Temple
The Annamalai Murugan Temple is located in Kil Kundha Post, near Ooty (Udhagamandalam) in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu. The temple is dedicated to Lord Murugan and is often referred to as the "7th Hill House of the Lord". It is situated atop a hill, offering a splendid panoramic view of the surrounding region.
The temple has a unique history. It was built by a saint named Krishnan, who was deeply devoted to Lord Murugan. After a three-year penance in Shivan Cave, Lord Murugan appeared to him and expressed his desire to have a temple built in that location.
Despite his humble means, Krishnan collected stones and, with the help of local villagers, constructed the temple in 1975.
