Built on the bank of the Ganges at Rasmani Ghat, the temple was constructed on April 12, 1875, by Jagadamba Devi, the youngest daughter of Rani Rashmoni. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Annapurna, and it is known for its striking resemblance to the Dakshineswar Kali Temple in Kolkata.
Inside the main sanctum, you can find a silver idol of Lord Shiva and an ashtadhatu (an alloy of eight metals) idol of Goddess Annapurna. The temple is a navaratna (nine-pinnacled) heritage structure and is a significant spiritual site for devotees. The temple also features a Natmandir, six Shiva temples, and two Nahabatkhanas.
