Bedini Bugyal
Bedni Bugyal is a stunning Himalayan alpine meadow situated at an elevation of about 3,354 meters in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. It lies on the trek route to Roopkund near the village of Wan and offers breathtaking views of the snow-capped peaks Trishul and Nanda Ghunti.
The meadow is rich in flora, including the rare Brahm Kamal flower, and features a small, sacred glacial lake called Bedni Kund or Vaitarani. This lake holds religious significance, with an ancient temple dedicated to Goddess Nanda Devi nearby, and is an important site during the Nanda Devi Raj Jat pilgrimage, which occurs every twelve years.
The meadow's pristine beauty, biodiversity, and cultural importance make it a popular destination for trekkers, nature lovers, and pilgrims alike, especially best visited between May-June and September-November.
