Bhalswa Horseshoe Lake, also known as Bhalswa Jheel, is a natural freshwater lake located in northwest Delhi. Originally shaped like a horseshoe, the lake was formed from one of the meanders left behind by the Yamuna River as it changed its course over the years.
Unfortunately, half of the lake has been used as a landfill area, and a low-income housing colony has been built on it, which has impacted the once excellent wetland ecosystem and wildlife habitat.
