Bharat Bhavan in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, is an autonomous multi-arts complex and museum established and funded by the Government of Madhya Pradesh. Designed by the renowned architect Charles Correa, it was inaugurated on February 13, 1982, by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The complex is located near the Upper Lake and offers a unique blend of visual arts, performing arts, folk art, literature, and more.
The complex includes multiple art galleries, a graphic printing workshop, a ceramics workshop, an open-air amphitheater, a studio theater, an auditorium, a museum of tribal and folk art, and libraries of Indian poetry, classical music, and folk music.
Each part of the building is distinct yet flows seamlessly into one another, linked by meandering paths that create a sense of surprise and pleasure for visitors.
