The Big Street Masjid, also known as the Triplicane Big Mosque or Wallajah Mosque, is one of the oldest and largest mosques in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is located on Triplicane High Road, Triplicane. Constructed in 1795 by the family of Muhammad Ali Khan Wallajah, the Nawab of Arcot, the mosque is built in the Mughal architectural style.
The mosque features two tall minarets, a large prayer hall, and a tank for ablution. It is known for its peaceful coexistence with the nearby Parthasarathy Temple, symbolizing the harmonious cultural mix in the area. The mosque is administered by the Prince of Arcot Endowments Trust.
