The Bon Monastery in South Sikkim, also known as Bon Gonpa, is the only Bon monastery in Sikkim. Established in 1980 by Yung Dung Tsultrim, the monastery is located in Kewzing, near Ravangla. The Bon tradition, which predates Buddhism, is preserved here, and the monastery serves as a center for religious and cultural activities.
The monastery provides education and support to over 35 young students, many of whom come from destitute or very poor families. The serene environment and spiritual ambiance make it a peaceful retreat for visitors and devotees alike. The interior of the monastery is adorned with fascinating paintings of Bon deities and offers a glimpse into the rich heritage of the Bon religion.
