The Chauragarh Fort, also known as Chaugan Fort, is a historic fort situated on the peak of the Satpuda mountain range near Chaugan village in the Gadarwara tehsil of Narsinghpur district, Madhya Pradesh. The fort was built by the mighty Gond ruler Sangram Shah in the 16th century and later became significant during the reign of the Gond and Maratha kings.
The fort features three gates and a rampart on top of the hill. Inside the fort, you can find a pond called Revakund, an ancient pyramidal temple, and a fragmentary idol of Narasimha (the head and body are separated). Other notable structures within the fort include the Rangmahal, the palace of the Gond king Prem Narayan Shah, and the remains of an open pavilion called Darvar Bal.
