Farrukhnagar Fort, located in Gurugram district of Haryana, was built in 1732 by Faujdar Khan, the first Nawab of Farrukhnagar and a governor under the Mughal Emperor Farrukhsiyar. The fort originally had five gated entrances and was surrounded by an octagonal town plan.
Key structures within the fort include the Dilli Darwaza (Delhi Gate), which features impressive Mughal architecture and bastions, and Sheesh Mahal, a palace famous for its mirror inlay work, built using red sandstone, Mughal bricks, and Jhajjar stone.
The Jama Masjid, also built by Faujdar Khan within the fort, contains ancient sandstone slabs with Arabic inscriptions. Although the fort is mostly in ruins today, restoration efforts have preserved key gateways, including Patli Darwaza and Jhajjari Darwaza.
