Ganesh Temple in Sawai Madhopur is a revered Hindu temple located within the historic Ranthambore Fort. Known as Trinetra Ganesh Temple, it is one of the oldest temples in Rajasthan and holds immense religious significance.
The temple is unique because it houses the entire family of Lord Ganesha, including his wives Riddhi and Siddhi, and his sons Shubh and Labh. The temple's history dates back to 1299 AD, when a battle took place between King Hameer and Alauddin Khilji at Ranthambore Fort.
According to legend, King Hameer, a devoted follower of Lord Ganesha, had a divine vision in which the deity assured him that his troubles would end. The next morning, an idol of Trinetra (three-eyed) Ganesha miraculously appeared on the fort’s wall, and the war came to an abrupt halt.
