Gorton Castle is a majestic heritage structure located in the heart of Shimla. Built in 1904 and designed by the renowned British architect Sir Winton Jacob, the three-story building exhibits exquisite Neo-Gothic architecture. The castle, which covers an area of 40,000 square feet, was originally constructed to house the Government Secretariat of Punjab and now serves as the office of the Accountant General of Himachal Pradesh.
The building features 125 rooms, towering spires, and balconies adorned with traditional Rajasthani Jali (lattice) work.
