Gurudwara Guru Ka Taal, located near Sikandra in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, is a significant Sikh pilgrimage site dedicated to the memory of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
The Gurudwara marks the place where the ninth Sikh Guru voluntarily surrendered to Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in 1675, standing firm in his commitment to religious freedom. Originally built as a reservoir in 1610 during the reign of Jahangir, the site was later transformed into a Gurudwara to honor Guru Tegh Bahadur’s sacrifice.
The Gurudwara’s architecture features red sandstone, reminiscent of Mughal-era structures, and once had twelve towers, of which eight remain today. The premises include lush gardens, a continuous chanting area, and a community kitchen (Langar) that serves free meals to visitors at all hours.
A particularly sacred spot within the Gurudwara is Bhora Sahib, where Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was confined for nine days before being taken to Delhi.
