Hira Mehal
The Hira Mahal is a beautiful pavilion located within the Delhi Red Fort, specifically on the eastern wall north of the Moti Masjid. Built in 1842 during the reign of Bahadur Shah II, this four-sided white marble structure is a fine example of Mughal architecture. The pavilion is simply decorated with carved arches and overhanging eaves (chhajja), but lacks inlay work.
Hira Mahal stands at the end of the southern axis of the Hayat Baksh Bagh, offering a picturesque view of the garden. It is a serene spot within the bustling Red Fort complex, providing a glimpse into the architectural elegance of the Mughal era.
