Indian Institute of Information Technology, Bhagalpur (IIIT‑Bhagalpur), located in Sabour, Bhagalpur, Bihar, is a public‑private‑partnership technical institute established in 2017 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and declared an “Institute of National Importance” in September 2020.
It operates on about 50 acres of land carved out of the Bhagalpur College of Engineering campus near the southern bank of the Ganga River, starting from temporary facilities and now fully functioning from its new permanent campus in Sabour.
The institute offers undergraduate programmes such as B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering, with later additions of postgraduate and doctoral programmes, and admissions mainly through national entrance exams.
IIIT‑Bhagalpur is mentored by IIT Guwahati, which supports its academic standards, labs, and research culture, and the institute focuses on high‑quality education in information technology, computing, and electronics to prepare students for careers in core IT and technology sectors.
