Indian Institute of Information Technology, Tiruchirappalli (IIIT-Tiruchirappalli)

Indian Institute of Information Technology, Tiruchirappalli (IIIT‑Tiruchirappalli or IIIT‑Trichy), located in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, is a public‑private‑partnership technical institute established in 2013 under the IIIT (PPP) model and funded jointly by the Government of India, the Government of Tamil Nadu, and Indian industry partners.

It started functioning on the campus of Bharathidasan Institute of Technology and later moved to the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli (NITT) in 2016, where it shares hostels, library, labs, and other facilities while maintaining its own academic identity.

The institute offers undergraduate programmes such as B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering, along with M.Tech, M.Sc, and PhD programmes, with admission mainly through national entrance exams like JEE Main and GATE.

IIIT‑Tiruchirappalli focuses on high‑quality education and research in information technology, computer science, and electronics, supported by modern infrastructure and strong industry collaboration, aiming to prepare students for careers in core IT and advanced technology sectors.
