Jal Mahal, located in Narnaul, Mahendragarh district, Haryana, is a beautiful historical monument built in 1591 by Shah Kuli Khan. The palace is situated in the middle of a large pond known as Khan Sarovar. The architecture features lime and stone, with a small palace-like structure in the center of the lake.
The palace has a square central chamber with four smaller chambers at the corners, and staircases on the northern and southern sides leading to the upper storeys. The central chamber is crowned by an octagonal cupola surrounded by a hemispherical dome. The entrance to the palace is through a gatehouse with rooms for guards constructed over a bridge with sixteen arched spans.
