Jetavana
Jetavana Monastery in Shravasti, Uttar Pradesh, is one of the most famous Buddhist monasteries in India. It was donated to Gautama Buddha by Anathapindika, a wealthy merchant, and is known as Jetavana Anathapindika Arama. The monastery is located just outside the old city of Shravasti and is where Buddha spent 25 monsoon seasons and delivered many of his teachings.
The monastery features several significant structures, including the Gandhakuti (fragrant chamber), where Buddha resided, and the Kosambakuti, a meditation room. There is also a large pond called Jetavanapokkharan, where Buddha used to bathe. The site is now a historical park and attracts many tourists and pilgrims each year.
