Kaina Temple is a sacred Hindu site located in Thoubal, Manipur. It is associated with King Bhagya Chandra, who ruled Manipur in the 18th century. According to legend, Lord Krishna appeared in the king’s dream and instructed him to carve his idol from a jackfruit tree found at Kaina Hill. Following this divine vision, seven images of Lord Krishna were created from the tree and installed in various temples across Manipur and Assam.
The temple is situated on Kaina Hill, which was historically known as Lakhai Phandong Ching. It is 29 km from Imphal, accessible via the Imphal-Yariripok road. The site is being developed as a major tourist complex, preserving its religious and historical significance.
