Kalaa Fort, also known as Bala Quila or Alwar Fort, is a historic hill fort located in Alwar, Rajasthan, built in the 15th century by Hasan Khan Mewati. The fort stretches over 5 kilometers and is perched on the Aravalli range, offering panoramic views of the city below. It features six grand gates including Suraj Pol and Chand Pol, along with 15 large and 51 smaller towers equipped with numerous loopholes for muskets, reflecting its strong defensive design.
Over centuries, the fort was ruled by various dynasties including the Mughals, Marathas, Jats, and Kachwaha Rajputs. It is associated with Mughal emperors Babur and Jahangir, who stayed here during significant historical events.
