The Kauleshhwari Mother Temple is a revered pilgrimage site located on Kolhua Hill in Hunterganj, Chatra district, Jharkhand. The temple is dedicated to Kauleshwari Devi, a form of Sati or Kali. The temple is situated at an elevation of 1,575 feet and offers a panoramic view of the surrounding area, often referred to as "Akash Lochan" (Sky Eye).
The site holds historical and religious significance, with connections to the Ramayana and Mahabharata. It is believed that the Pandavas spent some time here during their exile, and Lord Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana also visited during their exile. The temple is considered a Shakti Peetha, as it is believed that the womb of Sati fell here.
