Kinnaur Kailash, also known as Kinner Kailash, is a sacred mountain in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, standing at an impressive height of 6,050 meters (19,850 feet). It is considered holy by both Hindus and Buddhists, and is often associated with Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
The mountain is famous for its monolithic pillar (Shivling), which is located at an altitude of around 4,800 meters (15,750 feet). The Kinnaur Kailash Range borders the district of Kinnaur in the south and is dominated by peaks like Jorkanden, the highest peak in the range at 6,473 meters (21,253 feet).
The region is a popular pilgrimage site, with the Kinnaur Kailash Yatra taking place annually from August 1st to August 26th. This yatra allows only 350 pilgrims per day and involves a challenging trek through stunning landscapes.
