The Kohima Cathedral Church, also known as the Mary Help of Christians Cathedral, is the main church of the Diocese of Kohima in Nagaland. Located on Aradurah Hill in Jakhama, the cathedral is renowned for its unique architecture that blends traditional Naga elements with Gothic style.
The facade resembles a Naga house, and the 16-feet high carved wood crucifix is one of Asia's largest. The cathedral was consecrated in January 1991 and serves as a symbol of unity and peace. It was built with contributions from Japanese people to honor the soldiers who died in the Battle of Kohima during World War II.
The church also contains the tomb of the first bishop of Kohima, Bishop Abraham Alangimattathil.
